Located within the Caribou-Targhee National Forest, the Grand Targhee Resort offers stunning views and rugged terrain. On top of this, it’s close to not one, but two world-class national parks -Yellowstone and Grand Teton – making it an ideal base camp for endless adventures. 


A Taste of the Old West

Grand Targhee spans two mountains over 2,500 acres of lift-served terrain, 500 acres of backcountry,  and more than 70 trails ready to be traveled.  The base area serves as the resort’s center which offers several lodging options just a few feet away from the resort’s lifts, dining, shopping, and sports rental shops. Choose from slope side lodging or larger vacation homes and condo rentals just outside of the village.

Things To Do
There are plenty of activities to enjoy in the summer that include hiking, biking, horseback riding, and a variety of tours through two national parks. Guests looking for relaxation during their vacation could take advantage of the scenic gondola rides and guided tours at the summit of Fred’s Mountain, rejuvenating full-service spa services, and a dip in the heated pool and hot tubs.

Activity Center
Grand Targhee’s Activity Center in the main plaza has been called a one-stop concierge service for planning exciting adventures for you and your family in the Grand Tetons. They cover many of the area’s diversions like the Eurobungy, climbing wall, mining, disc golf, horseback rides, and many more activities. 

Biker’s Paradise
Wyoming mountain bikers flock to Grand Targhee, a mountain rider’s mecca of sorts, which has established itself as the first downhill mountain bike destination in the Tetons.  Nearly 50 miles of multi-use and lift serviced downhill trails elevated over 2,200 vertical serve Grand Targhee. And not only do guests enjoy the spectacular views leading to both the Teton Pass and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, they enjoy biking, horseback riding or hiking at cooler temps hovering around 50 degrees in the middle of summer. The Grand Targhee Bike Park is a destination in itself offering every rider a challenge, regardless of their ability or experience level.

Centrally situated between the two world-famous Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, there’s no better base camp than Grand Targhee for your adventurous explorations. Both parks serve an endless supply of protected wildlife and unmatched views of natural wonders like Old Faithful. 

 

The entire Targhee-Yellowstone-Teton offer hikes ranging from 30 minutes to several hours, starting from the resort or another trail head. Alternatively, guests can ride a scenic chairlift ride to the top of the mountain and take advantage of guided hikes at the summit.


Guided Snake River whitewater and Grand Teton scenic float trips are available by tour companies that serve the area. Excursions range from 2-3 hours, up to 4 hours round trip and the tours operate throughout the summer months, from May to September.
