Free Gondola Rides at Copper Mountain

Copper is the only resort in the Colorado Rockies to offer free gondola rides for adults in the summer. Adults can enjoy a complimentary ride on their American Eagle Lift with only one catch – spend a few dollars on yummy eats or retail goods in the Village. Show your receipt for at the ticket window and your ride is on the house. Young kids ride free with an adult ticket. Grab a delicious meal in the Village, then rise to the peak for hiking, biking, and amazing summer views, all at one low price.

Mountain Biking

Starting in July, the American Eagle Lift at the base of Copper allows bike hauls up the mountain, where both the rider and her mountain bike enjoy a scenic gondola ride to the top, then a nice downhill bike ride down a choice of easy, intermediate or advanced terrain.  True to its world-class reputation, Copper offers on-site bike rentals and outfitting at the base, so there’s no need to bring your own equipment, just show up.

Hiking Copper Mountain

Get to know Copper Mountain intimately and ignite your senses on a hike along the Colorado Trail, observing the wildlife and forest at the top of the American Eagle gondola. You can also stop for a delicious BBQ lunch at 11,375 feet at the Solitude Station while taking in the panoramic views of the Tenmile Range.

There are so many summer activities offered at Copper, you may visit a couple of times in the warmer months or extend your stay.  Copper offers Summit County’s only go kart track, and unique rugged scooters called Digglers to rent for a tour around the village.  Enjoy both activities on a Day Pass, or purchase tickets individually for any attraction you’d like to try.

Affordable Copper Mountain Summer Activities

Most summer activities at Copper are affordable, or even free, like disc golf.  You can purchase tickets individually for entry, or if you plan to make a day of it, buy a budget-friendly Day Pass to cover most attractions at a discounted rate:

Woodward Summer Terrain Lessons

That’s right, Copper offers snow lessons in the summer! Open weekends from June through September, on the snow terrain park sessions are offered each Saturday as conditions permit.  You can pre-purchase tickets online for limited spots, or take your chances at the Woodward Cage walk-up window on the day of the session to purchase tickets.
